The Furniture First Board of Directors kicked off an in-person meeting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the buying group’s new office space. The Board of Directors and staff were present as Art Scholet, Chairman of the Board and owner of Scholet Furniture in Oneonta, NY, wielded the scissors for the cutting.
Located at 1500 Fulling Mill Road in Middletown, Pa, the new office is situated close to the Harrisburg International Airport and is approximately 13 miles away from their previous office space. Furniture First closed on the purchase of the building last December. Facility upgrades made over the past two months prepared the office for the current staff of 11 to occupy the space, with plenty of room for future growth.
“We are very excited about the new space,” commented Scholet. “We now have enough room for all of the Board and staff to sit down together and work on our plans for the group.”
The agenda for the Board of Directors meeting is set to include strategic planning for direction of the group, including plans for membership growth, further development and expansion of the Mattress 1st retail store model, and new initiatives designed to improve the profitability of Furniture First’s members. The staff will review the status of current vendor relationships for the Board as part of the strategic planning process.
