Furniture First has purchased a new office building in Middletown, PA. The closing took place late in December 2015. Improvements to the facility are underway and the buying group’s staff will move to the office in mid-March. Still in the central Pennsylvania region, the Middletown location is situated nearer to the airport, allowing vendors to more easily meet with the group.
“There’s plenty of room to grow in the new office headquarters,” commented Art Scholet, owner of Scholet Furniture in Oneonta, NY and Chairman of Furniture First’s Board of Directors. “When the Board gets together for our in-person meetings, we will be able to hold them in the large conference room at the new office, instead of at a hotel. It’s big enough to fit all of the Board and the senior staff. This will allow us to interact and collaborate.” The Board plans to meet at the new facility in late March.
In addition to the new facility, Furniture First will debut a new interactive program interface in their Las Vegas Showroom, A-810. A 49” touchscreen kiosk will allow the group’s members to access information on the 165 vendor programs offered by Furniture First. Market Specials and Best Sellers will be available on several programs and summary sheets will be available for all suppliers. Members will be able to print information on demand or bundle it for download on a tablet or PC so that they can review it at their convenience.
